Hypnosis to help with antidepressant withdrawal

Full hypnosis download Coming off antidepressants

I am using hypnosis here to help people coming off their antidepressants. Hypnosis should be used in tandem with medical help and advice. And the only way to come off antidepressants is to wean off gradually. I certainly don’t recommend anyone to just stop taking their antidepressants. Withdrawal symptoms usually last for a couple of weeks and sometimes can mimic symptoms of depression (which is why sometimes people get put straight back on them again).

More and more research is questioning the validity of antidepressant treatment (1) and many people resent being on medication that may have severe side effects but may not be giving them much benefit.

Antidepressant withdrawal: hypnosis can ease symptoms and ‘speed up time’

Not only do I use hypnosis in the hypnosisdownloads.com session Coming off antidepressants to ease symptoms and improve psychological and physical well-being, but also to encourage time to ‘fly’. This has the effect of making withdrawal time seem very quick. We all know that the subjective experience of time can alter. So sometimes time drags and an hour can seem an eternity and yet at other times we can’t believe how quickly a fortnight has passed. Hypnosis is an excellent way to tap into this qualitative experience of time.

There are so many people wanting to live independently of antidepressants, I hope this session greatly helps some of them.

Note

(1) A University of Hull team in the UK concluded that antidepressant drugs actively help only a small group of the most severely depressed and even this benefit may have more to do with placebo effect than the actual activity of chemical affect. In total, the Hull team, who published their findings in the journal PLoS Medicine, reviewed data on 47 clinical trials.

They reviewed published clinical trial data, and unpublished data secured under Freedom of Information legislation. They focused on drugs which work by increasing the levels of the mood-controlling chemical serotonin in the brain. The researchers found that the drugs did have a positive impact on people with mild depression - but the effect was no bigger than that achieved by giving patients a sugar-coated ‘dummy’ pill.
