Full hypnosis download Walk more
Many people are put off exercise because they think it means hours of effort down the gym, or time endlessly running, but for excellent basic fitness and health we can’t do better than walking.
For example, did you know that whether you run a mile, or walk a mile, you’ll burn about the same number of calories? However, the run will also strengthen your heart, muscles and lungs. But it’s certainly easier to walk a few miles than to run them. What a great way to get slimmer!
Walk more: the magic 10,000 steps
Around forty years ago the Japanese discovered that walking 10,000 steps a day will help you stay healthy and fit without the need for additional exercise. What’s more, these steps don’t have to all be taken at once. Walking to put the kettle on, pacing up and down whilst chatting on your cell phone, even walking up the stairs to bed all count towards your healthy 10,000!
10,000 steps will take you about 5 miles – which is 8 kilometers. If you were to walk this all at once it would take around two hours. It’s amazing how the steps build up. People have become slimmer purely by getting themselves a pedometer, or ‘step counter’, and become so pleased with the exercise they were already doing that they couldn’t help but begin to walk more.
Hypnosis can motivate you to walk more
Getting our 10,000 steps in our immobile times isn’t always as easy as it seems. But just taking the stairs or walking instead of getting on the bus will mean that 10,000 steps a day or more become easily possible. For the walking to become aerobic, we need to do it for at least ten minutes but all steps help.

Note
(1) A study by the University of Essex compared the benefits of a 30-minute walk in a country park with a walk in an indoor shopping centre on a group of 20 members of local Mind associations. After the country walk, 71% reported decreased levels of depression and said they felt less tense, while 90% reported increased self-esteem. This was in contrast to only 45% who experienced a decrease in depression after the shopping centre walk, after which 22% said they actually felt more depressed.
