Being able to keep secrets safe and being true to our promises shows integrity, strength of character, decency and depth. Making promises lightly, kidding ourselves that we really will carry them out, or just kidding others, results in us becoming less trusted and appearing weak and unreliable. Not good for our self-esteem or our reputation.
A mark of maturity is to only agree to things you know you can honor.
Hypnosisdownloads.com now has a new session: Keeping secrets and promises which seeks to hypnotically encourage these honorable traits. And, of course, to keep a secret is to honor a promise. Spilling other people’s secrets (even if they didn’t actually tell you to keep it to yourself) is like being entrusted with their money and then giving it away to all and sundry so as to appear ‘generous’.
The value of your word
Whenever we make promises, we give our word. If we break promises or confidences then we instantly devalue our word. In a sense, we ourselves become less ‘valuable’ - certainly in the eyes of others. So much of life seems to be about what the individual can get rather than what they can give (and of course the two are related). I hope this session helps many people increase the value of their word.
