When I first started up in business as a hypnotherapist I naively thought the world would soon hear of me and beat a path to my door. I felt awkward about recommending my services, even though I was having quite dramatic positive results with people suffering from conditions which many other practitioners had failed to help. But I needed more people to come and see me or I would have to find another job! Fortunately, I realized that I had the tools to help myself!

People can get a bit precious about their businesses, taking the attituded that people should ‘just know’ that what they are offering is the best. Some people find business promotion embarrassing – for example, people who have been brought up to believe that it isn’t ‘nice’ to push themselves forward or ‘show off’. However, if we have spent time and effort on creating our business, then we really should be proud of it and want to represent it at every given opportunity.
