I was up in Oban in Scotland last week, visiting my hypnosisdownloads.com partner Roger Elliott and his family, and Oban is… a beautiful place. I even took an eight mile run around it. It’s easy to exercise when nature is all around you because you forget you are running.
People feel better in nature
I was blown away by the research we cite in this new hypnosis download ‘Harmony with nature’. Firstly, if you are in hospital with a view out to trees and natural greenery you will reliably heal faster than if you have no view or a rubbish view of a brick wall. Seeing green is good for our bodies as well as our minds. As I researched material for this hypnotic download, I also discovered that in Italy, Germany, Belgium and many other countries some interaction with nature (such as agricultural work) is actually prescribed by doctors for depressed patients, with good results. Going for a ‘green’ natural walk reliably lifts mood in well over 70% of depressed patients.
Feeling connected to nature – you know – those moments of supreme connectivity – certainly gives you perspective on the incidents and situations of your own life.
The thinking behind the new hypnosis download
The thinking behind this hypnosis session was two-fold. Firstly, I wanted to encourage more connection and activity with and in nature, and secondly, I want to give people the opportunity to experience supreme connection to the whole of creation. Whew! That sounds rather grand – but it’s amazing what you can experience hypnotically. And I’ve had enough experience of using hypnosis one to one with people to know that people can certainly get at least some of the physical and psychological benefits of being in nature hypnotically, even if physically they are in a concrete jungle.
Right, I’m off to fish for another invite up to Oban, where I hear the weather is still rather good. Failing that, I’m going to close my eyes and do some much needed self-hypnosis. I have a beautiful green place in mind…
Bye for now
Mark

Mark, are you *trying* to make me jealous?
It’s interesting to hear about your research, knowing that I was not happy living in the California desert the last 4 years. Getting up to the mountains usually felt more comfortable; I commented to my companions one trip that I’d suddenly realized, “I miss trees!” (I thought it was just because I grew up in Wisconsin.)
I recently moved closer to the coast and have a lovely view of a nature preserve out my bedroom window. Better job, too, among other things, but the greenery is high in my list of reasons I’m glad to have escaped the desert.
Thanks for the food for thought.
Hi Rebekah
Wasn’t trying to make you jealous :)I can imagine constant desert getting you down after 4 years!
You can rest assured having a view of a nature reserve from your window will have great physical and psychological benefits for you.
